The ideal candidate will be a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) as the Sr. Tester for Integration. You will be expected to develop code and execute automated test scripts to support integrations required for accessing VA enterprise systems and other UCAP toolsets; manual testing will be initiated, as required, to confirm defects and test script automation. You will participate in sprint development including disciplined testing is matured, to avoid finding quality issues at the end of sprint development. Develop code to perform automated test scripts and generate test data as work items that were established in the sprint plan to support integrations to meet VBA's desired outcomes. Your work will translate business functionality through integrations that deliver measurable outcomes for VBA claims processing.

Responsibilities: - Analyze VBA mission requirements, business processes, and workflows to inject VA partner systems and other UCAP toolsets into the claims workflow to accelerate and simplify claims processing.
- Partner with our VBA Business Analysts and SMEs to convert functional and technical integration specifications into test scenarios to develop automated test scripts for claims processing
- Support user acceptance testing of claims automation with dependent systems including user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using Python and related test libraries.
- Validate data mappings, transformation logic, and API integrations across systems.
- Coordinate with development, DevSecOps, and data engineering teams to identify and resolve integration defects.
- Author comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and acceptance criteria aligned with VA security and quality assurance standards.
- Support performance and regression testing for major releases and system upgrades.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, ensuring test coverage aligns with program objectives and VA compliance frameworks.
- Provide subject matter expertise on test automation strategy, tools, and best practices.
- Actively participating in debugging and altering code as necessary, often assuming a hybrid role between developers and testers.
- Assisting with unit testing, API testing, security testing, DevOps integration, performance testing, and stress test activities.
- Knowing which automation tool to use for each software testing activity and helping teams select the best tools.
- Testing across the entire application stack, from UI to API to database layers.
- Identify test data required for adequate testing of each integration.
- Utilize custom testing techniques to validate interfaces with dependent systems.
- Support to DevOps development teams test planning and execution as part of the Release Plan.
- Communicate any issues, problems, or risks to leadership with recommended solutions.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business, related field, engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline with at least 5+ years of experience
- 3+ years as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
- Must have 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance in a testing capacity working in an Agile delivery environment
- Experience working on VA programs or within federal healthcare environments.
- Exposure to VA integration frameworks and/or AWS GovCloud environments.
- Demonstrated experience with an automated testing framework to generate test scripts
- Understanding of SOAP/REST Web services to support data exchanges with other enterprise systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

The likely salary range for this position is $130,050 - $175,950. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
